Often teachers who attend "Open Workshops" go back to their home school with aspirations to bring Play Is The Way back to their school in hopes of engaging their colleagues in what they just experienced, only to be cut short by budgetary constraints, which can differ from district to district.
As a result Play Is The Way Canada® has opted to provide schools with the opportunity to host a PITW workshop without the added costs of the presenters expenses and still receive the discounted rate of a whole school workshop.
The similarities and differences between a "Whole School" workshop and a "Host School" workshop is that "Host Schools" will save on expenses and still receive the discounted registration fee. However, Play Is The Way Canada® reserves the right to open the workshop to participants from outside of the school hosting the workshop.
Includes follow up SKYPE, ZOOM or FACE TIME sessions for schools during staff meetings.
Individual workshop (Provincial Pro- days / non instructional days/ Curriculum Implementation Days) cost $125 per person; however, all participants in a "Host School" workshop will cost $100 per person. Please note there is a minumum number of particpants needed to run a workshop (15-20 people required / $2000 minimum) plus GST and PST.
* Please note that regional/geographic and professional development restrictions can affect the availability of this option
Workshops are available to schools in the United States as well. Please contact for further details.
Please email playistheway@outlook.com for Individual School based workshops and associated costs.
All workshops have a strong connection to Aboriginal Education. Each workshop has a focus on traditional stories and Truth and Reconciliation.
In British Columbia this workshop fully meets the requirement for the ministerial order around Indigenous Professional Development.
